At Swift Clipps Grooming, I believe grooming prices should reflect the time, skill and care required to safely and properly groom each individual dog.
Every dog is different. Even two dogs of the same breed can have completely different coat types, coat conditions, grooming styles, personalities and behaviours and may require very different amounts of time.
I am transitioning from breed-based pricing to a time-based grooming model. This allows me to price services more fairly and accurately based on your individual dog's needs.
$60 to $65/hour
For smaller dogs and dogs with coats that generally require less grooming time.
$70–$80/hour
For doodles, dense double-coated breeds and other coats that require additional bathing, drying, brushing, coat preparation and finishing time.
$75–$85/hour
For larger dogs, very dense coats and dogs requiring additional time, product and physical effort to complete their groom safely.
$80+/hour
Extra-large breeds require considerably more time, product, drying time, space and physical effort. Pricing begins at $80/hour and may vary depending on the individual dog and the services required.
$80/hour
Hand stripping is a specialized grooming technique used for appropriate wire-coated breeds.
As I continue expanding my hand-stripping services and experience, my current rate is $80/hour.
Hand stripping requires patience and additional time, and the total cost will depend on the amount of coat being worked on and the grooming required.
Hand stripping appointments require a introductory grooming appointment first to assess the dogs behavior and coat as it is a very complicated groom that requires a particular coat and a very frequent grooming scheudle.
My full grooming service is designed for dogs who need their complete professional grooming routine.
Depending on your dog's coat and individual needs, a full groom may include:
Professional bath including two shampoos for a cleaner dog
Professional blow-dry
Thorough brushing and coat preparation
Nail trim and smoothing
Ear cleaning
Paw and pad trimming
Sanitary trim
Face trim
Body trim
Leg and feather finishing
Tail trim
Clipper or scissor finishing where appropriate
Your requested pet trim or style
Based on the applicable hourly rate and the actual time required to safely complete the groom.
Your dog's final price may vary depending on their size, coat, condition, behaviour, desired style and the amount of grooming required.

This service is intended for dogs who do not require a full haircut or extensive coat removal.
Some grooms require considerably more time, precision and finishing work.
This service is appropriate for:
Breed-standard trims
Modified breed styles
Longer hairstyles
Extensive scissoring
Detailed shaping
Hand-finishing
Show-inspired styling
Customized trims
Based on the applicable hourly rate and the time required.
Detailed styling may take considerably longer than a standard maintenance groom.
A puppy's first grooming experiences can have a huge impact on how they feel about grooming throughout their life.
These short introductory appointments are designed to gently introduce puppies and other dogs to the sights, sounds and sensations of professional grooming.
Sessions may include:
Getting comfortable on the grooming table
Introduction to grooming tools
Clippers and vibration
Dryer sounds
Gentle brushing
Handling of feet, ears and face
Nail care when appropriate
Treat-based positive reinforcement
A small tidy when appropriate
This service may also benefit newly adopted dogs, rescue dogs, nervous dogs and some senior dogs.
Some dogs may need only one session, while others benefit from several short, positive experiences.
The goal is not to force a dog through a groom. The goal is to help them build confidence and learn that grooming can be a safe and positive experience.
$20
Nails trimmed and smoothed with a Dremel when tolerated.
Regular nail maintenance is recommended approximately every 4 weeks, although some dogs may require more frequent visits.
$25
Includes nail trim and smoothing plus paw/pad tidy.
$25
Includes nail trim and smoothing plus ear cleaning.
Prices of nail trimming can increase if appointment takes longer than 10 minutes
$15
Routine ear cleaning and hair removal where appropriate and safely tolerated.
This is a grooming service and does not replace veterinary care.
Starting at $15 for a stand-alone service. Price can increase if there is a lot of fur to remove from the ear and it takes longer than 10 minutes.
Deshedding is no longer charged as a separate per-minute service.
When additional deshedding is required, the extra bathing, drying, brushing and coat preparation time is simply reflected in your dog's total grooming time.
This means you aren't paying a separate "deshed fee" on top of your grooming price.
Dematting is also included within the time-based grooming model.
If your dog's coat requires additional time to safely work through tangles or mats, that additional grooming time will be reflected in the final price.
However, I will never sacrifice your dog's comfort simply to preserve a particular haircut.
some dogs handle dematting well based on their individual oersonaltiy and coat texture, while others are unable to stand even the slightest dematting process.
I will always make the safest most professional informed decision on dematting and shaving. Please know i never want to save your dog, i want your dog pretty and fluffy as much as you do. However I will never put a dog through discomfort just for looks. I will a;ways try my best to do whatever you want for your dogs looks as long as it is safe and ethical to do so!
Your dog's final grooming price is based on the applicable hourly rate and the time required to safely complete the service.
Factors that can affect grooming time include:
Breed and size
Coat type
Coat density
Coat length
Coat condition
Matting and tangles
Amount of shedding
Desired haircut or style
Amount of scissoring
Hand-finishing required
Behaviour and temperament
Anxiety or fear
Excessive movement
Difficulty standing for grooming
Handling challenges
Previous grooming history
How frequently your dog is professionally groomed
Additional bathing, drying or preparation required
There is no one-size-fits-all grooming price.
A regularly maintained dog may require considerably less time than another dog of the same breed whose coat is overgrown, matted or heavily shedding.
Likewise, a calm dog may require significantly less time than a dog who needs frequent breaks or additional handling.
I don't want to rush through your dog's groom simply because their breed has a predetermined price attached to it.
Time-based pricing allows me to give each dog the amount of time they actually need.
It accounts for the things that make your dog unique while allowing me to maintain the level of care, patience and attention I believe every dog deserves.
You are paying for the grooming time, skill, product and care your individual dog requires, not simply for their breed.
All prices listed are starting prices or hourly rates and are not guaranteed final prices.
Grooming times are estimates only. Some dogs may take less time than expected, while others may require considerably more.
If your dog's grooming needs are significantly different from what was expected, I will do my best to communicate this with you.
Not sure whether your dog needs a Bath & Tidy, Full Groom, Detailed Groom or something else?
That's okay!
Send me a message with your dog's breed, approximate size, current coat length, behavior, when they were groomed last and how often they are professionally groomed, and I can help determine which service and pricing category is most appropriate.
